Synopsis for the 1st Story

At Arlington National Cemetery, Rios and his deputy Cleland find Shire and Takomi’s graves empty. Upon learning the Black Razors have engaged Black Ops, they return to IO headquarters.  In Estonia, Black Ops is in a three-way shootout with the Black Razors and Markov’s security robots.  Watching the battle, Rios identifies Shire, Redbird, and Crane whom Santini recognizes as his former commander.  Chambers informs Santini that the Estonian government is threatening a diplomatic incident over the incursion so he orders the Black Razors to retreat.  A cyborg named Defect kills one of the Razors, and both Black Ops and the Razors open fire on it.  Shire then disables it with an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) grenade.  Black Ops exploits the ensuing confusion and infiltrates Markov’s base.  Markov detects their entry and sends Defect’s teammates, a trio of cyborgs called the H.E.A.T.E.R.S., to stop them.  Black Ops finds Markov’s neural plasma weapon and realize he has already activated it. Crane orders GQ and Redbird to leave while he and Shire destroy the base’s generators.  On their way out, GQ and Redbird are stopped by one of the cyborgs, Cricket, while her team leader Pinpoint intercepts Crane and Shire. Elsewhere, Markov reveals to his lead scientist, Dr. Misha, that he knows about her past friendship with Shire.
