The Death Dealer comic book is produced by Image Comics, which began production of a limited series comic book featuring the origin of the character in 2007. The book's creators are Nat Jones, Jay Fotos, and Joshua Ortega. The main plot is by Jones and Ortega, who do the artwork in pens and colors. The story tells of an ancient land, and how two warring nations fought in an epic war, until the Death Dealer appeared and slaughtered both sides.
