Synopsis for "Guarding the Globe: Morning Drive"
The story begins with a Guardians of the Globe alert going out early in the morning. Kid Thor and Knockout get it at their home while sleeping. Brit gets it while spending time with his son. Yeti, Le Brusier, and Pegasus are hanging out playing chess when they get the call. Ms. Popper is at a dance club. Bulletproof is in costume getting coffee.
They join the rest of their team and respond to the emergency. It is The Giant rampaging through a city. The team engages him. Outrun and Yeti work on rescuing civilians while the rest of the team work to subdue The Giant. Eventually Bulletproof and Brit are able to take him down with a double flying punch to the chin.
While the fight is going there are caption boxes giving a voice over. The voice thinks it's funny that the Guardians actually believe they can save the world. It finds their earnest zeal amusing. The way they serve beings even lower than themselves would be a grand farce among the voice's kind.
The scene shifts and we see Set observing the Guardians' fight with The Giant in a pool of blood. It was his voice the reader saw. He speaks to himself while watching the Guardians end the fight. He says to enjoy their victory and the illusion of security. He wants them to continuing to keep the world safe. He wants it preserved until it is time for the reign of Set.
