Oh wow that was fast lol. Technically yeah nothing was wrong with your edit, but since there's no page yet for the last Invincible issue, it makes for a broken link when you just put the picture in there. And that'd also be fine if you run into some admins who usually don't care (a la moi), but in Invincible's case I'll just make a page for it so the volume doesn't have that problem. I'll make a page for it soon, rn I'm studying for more semester finals but I always take a minute a few times a day to check activity on this wiki. Plus I was planning on creating it on December 19th (day before #143 comes out) anyway for spoiler warnings based on the cover. But thanks for the other edits you've been doing today! The admins here all appreciate it!
Removing links purely because they're redlinks is counterproductive, so I'd say those admins that don't like them are in the wrong, but hey that's just me. And it's no problem! Image Comics have some really great comics, so the wiki deserves to shine!
Oh hey man! Good to see you again! And once I make articles for Ursaal and Onaan i'll explain, but basically the twins first appear individually (apart from Thragg's other children) in #127 yes. However, the last of Thragg's children are born in #120, presumably including Ursaal and Onaan. #127 is post-reboot, meaning that 5 years have passed, as you know. #127 is their first appearance aged, but really with the other children they are present in #120 as well as in #122.
I originally listed #115 as their first appearances along with Thragg's other children, but I realized that there's no way of knowing if the twins were in that issue, but they definetly had to be in #120.
TMNT has very little to do with Image Comics. It is a franchise that has had many canon comics made by various companies, Image not being one of them. There is a whole different wiki dedicated to just them. The 4 of them did appear in an early issue of Savage Dragon, and perhaps they showed up in a few other places in Image, but they do not really have a place in this database. Plus, the page you attempted to make about them was rather scant.

Thank you bringing this to my attention, I was unaware of this, so my b. Please though, if you plan on making articles, put in the work that has been demonstrated by the various other users throughout this wiki's history. A stub article is almost as bad as no article at all. Fill in the details. For your purposes, I suggest the website http://readcomiconline.to/
I just checked, and it has all the serieses you're looking for. Again, if you create good articles I should have no problem with them. I don't like deleting content.
Yeah I actually like Marvel more than Image, but I just don't get along well with people on that wiki except for MAO really, and that's only on Spidey-related things. They're way too technical on lots of stuff, and I can point out hypocrisies in their speech and personalities every two messages. But seriously tho it's awesome that you're at 362! Congrats! Maybe they'll make you an admin there too lol
No No No No!!!
I would rather avoid that if possible. One of them hinted at it, but I managed to remind them that I didn't get along with one of the moderators (Annabelle). No one has mentioned it again since.
I was going to just do that, but I happen to have an actual question now. I was planning on welcoming a new user, but I saw that there was already an automated message from me. Did you do that, was it Una, or just like the wiki? do you know
Is the purpose of the translations to translate literally, or try to translate the intent of the phrases (or both)?
Also, in Chapter 40, Page 6, "Niaj sortoj ne mortu tie!" is imperative, and also negative (ne), so would translate most literallly as "Our fates/destinies should not die there!" Of course, in context, it probably ought to be "Niaj sortoj ne estas morti ĉi tie!" (Our fates are not to die here!). Or, with the fewest changes as "Niaj sortoj ne mortu ĉi tie!" (Our fates/destinies should not die here!)
I don't know what you want to do with that information, but there you go.
It's a little bit of both. Primarily, our intent to translate literally, but on some occasions we can change them. In the Saga series, Blue Language is only based on Esperanto, so while it is the same thing most of the time, it can potentially differ slightly. However, it is still a real language in the fictional work, so most likely it ought to make sense when it is being used.
Thank you for pointing that out. Most, if not all of our admins, unfortunately don't speak Esperanto. I'll change the translation right now to "our destinies should not die there" as you said. Even in context, it is not our job to transcribe Esperanto on this page. Our purpose is to relay the Blue Language phrases given, and what they translate to in English. Even if few changes provide a better definition, if what we have makes sense, then that is what we will use.
Thanks for your help with this page in general btw. I did really appreciate your helping me understand the translation of "loose" all that time ago. Understanding Esperanto more will help us all enjoy Saga more!
You've been made an admin. I made your color 6495ED as that's the closest to Mark's colors that I could find. I saw you made a comment about deserving admin here. I have been negligent and if you told me you wanted that earlier, I clearly have forgotten.
I'd be more than happy to help empower those that need to do their job here. Having said that, let me know how I can help you. I went ahead and made you admin in assumption you were joking about quitting just because you couldn't be admin. However, if you really are quitting Image, just let me know and I can revert your rights. I usually try to make sure admins are active. I'm considering revoking Brian's rights as I know him IRL and he told me he's taking a break which may be perm. I saw Timeshade stop by but haven't really seen him edit. I may reach out to him and see if we should remove his admin rights and regain the Twitter password for here as well.
Let me know if you guys have any questions. I'm sorry for being negligent, I do appreciate your hard work and hope you all feel you are getting the power you need to complete your tasks. While I may be slow, i do response as I still love Image. As for why I asked DeCaste about you being admin, it was more out of respect as he was already an active admin and I wanted to make sure he was cool with it. You have my full trust and the ask was more of a respect step for current administration. I'd ask both of you if a third person were wanting to step up. Best wishes.
Oh wow thanks man! This is amazing thanks so much!!!
And I just wanted to clarify that my comments weren't in anyway intended as an insult or disatisfaction with you and/or this wiki, I've cherished my time here. I think the misunderstanding came when I was just wondering what the color change was for (also I do like my new color), and you said something like it's only for leaders not you, and I was like well gee I guess I'll leave then.
My intent was satirical in nature, I apologize if you actually thought I was gonna just up and leave after all the time I've put in here. I mean I am busy so I can't be on here 24/7, especially with school starting up again in a week and a half, but while I can I'm gonna stick around for a while.
Sorry if you wanted me gone, but you can't get rid of me that easily Una :)
Also my personal opinion is maybe you shouldn't revoke Brian's rights just yet if it's still unclear if his leave is permanent or not. I mean he may come back and that'd be great, and there's no need to be triggerhappy in revoking I don't think, right? But that's my say, it's your decision after all.
You son of a gun. You worked extra hard just to get under my spot, didn't you? Nice work!
Unfortunately for me, you'll for sure pass me because I don't think I'm going to do anymore here.
I mean I'm unappreciated in general, and Marvel just has cooler stuff right now. Maybe when Invincible's finale actually starts up I'll come back, but like what's the point now? I'm glad for you and everything you've done, but I can't really testify to your work cuz I'm not a moderator. I'll see you on Marvel wiki, then, I guess.
Stop feelin' sorry for yourself. I do my best work when I have competition and I suspect that you have more to offer.
I asked Unatratnag to upgrade you to Moderator. Which is good because I fucked something up and don't know how to fix it and I think you do and I will be damned if I have to ask someone else other than you to help me.
I may have also suggested that your name would look good in hot pink. Then again I may have dreamed that last part up. :)
Hey I just remembered that there were a few guys who edited something on here recently, and they got no "Welcome to the Wiki" kinda message. I thought that was an automatic thing the site did! The accounts are named Mikex20, Colourful Walker, Ginonem, and Timeshade. Could you do that or tell me how to word something like that? I think it looks bad if we don't. Thanks man
Little man??? I'll have you know that in this freezing cold weather I defy any man to be a "big man".
However....Timeshade appears to be an inactive Admin. Unless I looked up the wrong name, but its the same one, we probably shouldn't give him the regular greeting.
However, I got Colourful Walker, Mikex20 & Ginonem.
Hmm I mean he isn't really trolling, those are kinda useless categories for the Saga characters anyway given the ever-changing nature of the story. But he may be badge hunting. He'll run out of Saga characters soon tho, so I'll wait and see what happens.
Hey I renamed a page you just created. It was Troy Evans (Invincible) and now it's Troy Evans (FireBreather). I did this cuz the other three main characters (Duncan, his mom, and Belloc his dad) have the FireBreather parenthesis after their name. It was just for consistency, but I did want to ask you how you think it should be.
Like yes FireBreather is in the Invicible universe, but it is kind of removed. The only actual connection is through the Pact miniseries. Then again, so is ShadowHawk, and his name is just Eddie Collins without a parenthesis.
Sorry for that long exposition. The point is the Invincible universe is never to be named in a parenthesis. So should all the FireBreather characters have a FireBreather parenthesis or nothing at all? And does that decision also apply to people who can directly tie-in to the Invincible universe?
Actually, Belloc, Duncan and Margaret were supposed to be renamed to be in Invincible Universe, but I don't know how to do that. Wait... FireBreather is in or not in the Invincible Universe??? At first I thought it wasn't but I later found out that it was. Now I am confused.
If it IS a part of Invincible then they all should be changed to reflect that, but if they are NOT, then I flubbed up and you fixed it.
The parentheses should be on all characters, but many were created before the rule went into effect. Back then they were either Spawn or Invincible characters, but now we have a ton of other realities to recon with. I have noticed that several of the newer Invincible and Spawn characters have the parentheses on their names.
Okay I went back and looked. Those characters weren't in Invincible. I thought they were, but I was wrong, sorry about that. Didn't mean to mess with your head. Una didn't tell me that exception to the rule, but then again I didn't ask.
Thanks for fixing the FireBreathers.
Heyy (3 threads at once, yeesh) but actually I didn't know about rollbacks 'till just now. That's so convinient! Adminning is really cool.
Also since I'm bringing it up, what I did was rollback a guy's edit on Invincible. He added a mental illness category as a "moral code". Idk about you but I wouldn't define a moral code as a mental illness at all. You agree?
Morality is a choice, but mental illness is like luggage, you're stuck with it.
NO!! A moral code is NOT a mental illness. However, without knowing the story arc in question, was a character's moral code temporarily effected by mental illness induced from an antagonist??? I am assuming not, but even if it was, it would have been temporary and not a permanent part of that character's character.
So now I'm testing to see if my edits on badges apply to the whole wiki, because now I'm not sure. Can you tell me if the Spawn Edit Master badge looks different than it did before to you or not? Before it just looked like his face, but now if you zoom in it's supposed to look like his whole body.
The badge looks like his whole body, but top of his head looks cut off. Might just be my monitor, I am at work. Shhhhh, don't tell that I am playing with my comic books at work.
Another 80 points and I will go up another position. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Hey take a look at recent activity and the last convo I had. Thoughts? I feel like we shouldn't do anything unless Image specficially says something about it. As you know, people over at Marvel wiki only make alternate unvierse pages if Marvel releases a statement, or it's blatantly obvious. It's kinda grey regarding Image.
Sorry, but we must have sent each other messages at the same time.
I found it. Earth-N-Comics has been ... annoying me all morning. I have been correcting several things he has done. He is the admin over at Dynamite Comics and he does it HIS way. I left that wiki because of it, but that's not important. He is going to try to change everything to be the way he wants it.
I need to talk to you about the change you made to the translation for "malkompaktan". I don't want to get into a back and forth editing battle over this so I'll explain my reasoning:
You say "it probably means feathery" and "Blue is poorly-translated Esperanto, not perfect". I disagree. If you look for the word in an Esperanto dictionary, you'll find that "malkompacta" translates to "loose, sandy" (example: http://www.denisowski.org/Esperanto/ESPDIC/espdic.txt). Adding an 'n' to the end of a word in Esperanto makes it accusative (example: http://lernu.net/en/gramatiko/akuzativo). I have a hard time beleiving this was an accident/typo since any word meaning "feathery" usually starts with "plum/plumo" of some form. Google translate doesn't correctly translate "malkompaktan" or "hundino" in this case but they are there in the dictionary ("hundino" actually translates to "bitch", not dog).
Please change the translation back to "loose" unless you have a different explanation for why it should be "feathery".
Alright I will explain my reasoning. Do you speak Esperanto? And fluently, at that? I speak Spanish, and there have been countless times where Google Translate or a dictionary got little things wrong. So don't just rely on that. You can also use context clues. Did you read Saga #6? If you haven't, or haven't read the series, then I strongly recommend it, but that's besides the point. If you did not read the issue, then you would not understand. The story of Saga is that there is a war between a species with wings and a species with horns. Those with horns, otherwise known as a "Moony", speak Blue. A Moony was fighting one of the Wings, Alana, and used that insult on her. There is literally no reason as to merit the word "loose". Do you think loose is an insult for some reason? Or a description of Alana, or just anyone? She's a skinny character if you somehow put together that interpetation, so that's also incorrect. Alana has wings. A Moony insulted her. That is my reasoning. I don't mean to be rude, but those are my thoughts on the matter. I've been on this wiki for about a year now so I've dealt with conflicts before and can handle them. What do you think about my response?
Ben, sorry. I changed that back before I saw the reference to this conversation.
Is Spanish perhaps your first language? In English, "loose" can be short for "of loose morality", and synonyms might be "easy" or "slutty".
Does calling the woman a slutty bitch makes sense in context? She's half naked with Barr's son, so sure. And we can't ignore that no matter how bad a translator Google Translate might be, it isn't going to translate "Feathery" into "Malkompaktan". The author definitely meant "loose", even if that might not be the best word for what he was trying to say.
What no English is my first language I just also speak Spanish. Did you not study another language in high school? Anyway, alright sure I guess that makes sense. You just had to explain your reasoning like I did. We good now
Yeah, a definite miscommunication there. I assumed that everyone knew what "loose" meant in that context. I would have said more earlier, but I'm new at this, and I'm not even sure how to get to these pages. :P
Oh don't worry about it! I guess I don't think about the word "loose" that often lol. You'll be fine if you are able to stick around longer, and if there are any discrepencies just talk 'em out and they'll be easily resolved.
