Synopsis for "New Moon"
Seeking time alone to think, New Man flies to the Moon. He finds himself drawn to the ruins of an alien settlement he recognizes as Acuran. Among the ruins, he finds a child’s doll that he has seen before, but he cannot place where. Link teleports in and cryptically reveals he knew New Man would be there. He explains that the settlement was an Acuran research base that the Keep ravaged centuries ago. This jars New Man’s memory, and he recalls spotting the doll in Keep propaganda that supposedly showed the Shepherd defending himself against the Acurans. Realizing how thoroughly the Keep brainwashed him, New Man is wracked with self-doubt. Link assures him he is still a hero and advises him to try living a normal life for a while. After New Man thanks him for the pep talk, Link teleports back to Earth. New Man stays behind to think for a bit and then flies back toward Earth, eager to get on with life.
